A large number of organisations have already
implemented SAP solutions in parts of their business, whether this
is geographical, by business unit or by functional area.
They then wish to roll out the solution to other parts of the
business, using the existing solution as a template. In
addition to all the typical challenges encountered on any SAP
implementation, this type of project has its own particular
challenges and requirements.
These include:
- Understanding the solution - Any new
implementation partner or consultant will need to be able to get to
grips with the solution being rolled out very quickly. The
experience of our consultants working in multiple industries and
for multiple customers allows them to understand customer solutions
very rapidly.
- Flexibility to adopt the customer implementation
approach - Customers with existing SAP solutions will
already have a methodology and standards for such things as
documentation. They need their implementation partner to be
able to adopt these standards (always assuming that they are fit
for purpose), rather than enforcing an entirely new approach for
the rollout. We are happy to adopt existing customer
processes and templates to ensure ongoing consistency of
approach.
- Deep SAP knowledge and experience - Rollouts
are particularly tricky as the organisation being rolled out to
will have their own set of requirements that need to be met.
However, meeting these requirements can cause regression issues for
the existing parts of the business that already use the
solution. Deep SAP knowledge and experience is required to
understand potential implications of any changes on both parts of
the business. Our consultants are able to understand and
articulate these impacts and will suggest solutions to resolve any
conflicts. We are also able to provide advice and guidance
about (non) regression testing to minimise risks to the businesses
already live on the SAP solution.
- Data Harmonisation - Probably the most
contentious issue on any SAP template implementation or rollout is
data harmonisation between different parts of the
organisation. The experience of our consultants allows us to
propose effective solutions to these issues, minimising the impact
to the project and to the business.
