A few weeks ago, SAP BusinessObjects released their latest service pack for their on-premise solution, which includes many new added features, and enhancements – one of which is the long overdue branding consistency with the other SAP platforms, as seen below is the inclusion of a Fiori style layout home screen, bringing together the ‘look and feel’ of a SAP experience.
Lumira Discovery & Lumira Discovery Packages
SAP are now looking to integrate two software products together in their roadmap (merging Lumira and Design Studio together), and have now made the first steps in doing this by rebranding the ‘Design Studio’ package to ‘Lumira Discovery’. This new package now introduces more functionality with highly visual charting components and enhanced geographic mapping capabilities to name but a few new exciting features:
SAP have notoriously always had an on-premise solution of BusinessObjects for reporting, but they have recently released another option of a cloud solution, that appeals to many customers that are looking for a ‘light’ reporting tool that can be accessed from anywhere, with integrated planning, forecasting and the ability to have a ‘Digital Boardroom’, with a wealth of new additional options. This lightweight tool certainly ticks a lot of boxes for customers that use either cloud data, or wish to push their on-premise data into the cloud for end user accessibility:
All in all, with so much heavy investment going into the reporting environments of SAP’s BusinessObjects, this could prove to be a very exciting few years!
